Ilsro is the efficient way to insert an x-ray cassette under a patient's back. Through its ingenious design the system offers unique advantages during the x-ray of ICU patients and reliefs the strain on both the patient as well as on the care personnel. The innovative system reduces especially the discomfort of patients to an absolute minimum, as there is hardly any physical contact during the entire procedure. This is why the insertion also works in highly sensitive and critical cases. In can be used on patients who had spinal or heart surgery, with rib series fractures or on patients who are connected to external life support machines. Ilsro consists of a radiolucent and slidable casing, which is attached to two tear proof pulling straps - the entire concepts is cleverly sewn together. The x-ray cassette is simply inserted into thsi casing and placed next to the patient, between shoulder and ribs. The pulling traps are then consecutively moved to the other side of the patient, underneath the curve of the neck. Next, the straps are pulled into their correct position, perpendicular to the patient and parallel to the x-ray cassette - ideally one should be positioned underneath the shoulder and the other underneath the hipbone. The care personnel now pulls on both straps and thanks to the innovative seam technology the casing with the cassette will glide underneath the patient like on a conveyor belt. Friction is thus minimized an so is the strain on the patient.
Note: Ilsro cannot be used on patients with drainage tubes on their backs.
