What is a sliding board and what is it used for?

Sliding boards make it easier for people with limited mobility to transfer. To transfer from the wheelchair to the bed, for example, you move the wheelchair close to the bed and secure it. The path between the wheelchair and the bed should be barrier-free, which is why side sections should be folded up or removed if necessary. The sliding board then functions like a bridge. To sit on the sliding board, it is pushed under the buttocks. You then slide from the wheelchair into the bed. Many people can do this transfer on their own with a little practice. The transfer between wheelchair and bed is just one example. The sliding board can not only be used in the house, but can also make transferring from the wheelchair to the car much easier.

Who can use a sliding board?

Basically, anyone who finds it difficult to transfer from a wheelchair can use a sliding board. It enables an active transfer with the greatest possible independence. Anti-slip pads, which can be individually attached to the underside of the sliding board as required, provide a secure grip.
